Technology: An Oasis Or a Mirage?

Image
Technology is the greatest human advancement ever documented. Its invention has allowed for the creation of automation, advances in communication, and an entire world of Intelligence beyond human capacity. Technology has an infinite number of possibilities, which open the door for vast benefits to the human race.  However, the realm of technology has unforeseen consequences that are also fatal to our way of life as we know it. These detriments are closer than we realize and at the very least, need to be monitored for the future.  With all the information in the world at our fingertips, we become reliant on our devices. This reliance quickly has shifted into  Technological Addiction  which creates a dependency on technology and devices. We spend more and more time buried in these devices, that we often lose sight of the world that is behind the screen.  This lack of reality has created such a lack of human connection that we've lost the ability to communicate in meaningful convers

EOTO Presentations- Social Influencers

Image
People who have built up a reputation and a following online due to their expertise and knowledge on a topic are otherwise referred to as " Social Influencer ". These individuals, as indicated by their label, heavily influence the community of social media users.  Big companies started to realize that the influence that these people had over others was much greater than originally perceived. When a makeup influencer advocates that they use a particular makeup brand, the product is sold out almost immediately. Watching this phenomenon, major companies learned to market their products through sponsorships and deals with these influencers.  Obviously, sponsorships honored both the companies and the Influencers by a mutual partnership. Cassette Tapes in Diffusion Theory

Cassette Tapes, an innovation for affordable and quality audio, took over the world for several decades. Until they lost out to CDs, cassettes were the biggest wave of communication through music in the world. They were the first form of affordable audio to allow people the opportunity to bring music anywhere they wanted, completely revolutionizing communication.  Like any invention, cassettes had to go through a pioneering stage, an early adapter stage, an early majority stage, a late adapters stage, and a laggards stage. These different stages collectively make up a theory of business called the  Diffusion Theory .  Diffusion Theory is a concept created to outline the timeline of a product's appeal and track participation from the buyer. This theory shows how a product begins, when it hits its tipping point, and when it starts to fall off the market.  To stay on the market, companies like  Apple  create new products yearly, keeping them relevant in the public eye and re-entering

Five Eyes Intelligence Alliance

In a world of technology and Social Networking, we as Americans have opened ourselves up to the world of surveillance and data mining. We expect to be watched by Facebook, Twitter, or Tik Tok, but what we often forget to look out for is the surveillance of our Government, and in some cases, other Governments. The Five Eyes is an Intelligence Agency created by the dominant five English-speaking countries of the world. The United States of America, the United Kingdom, Australia, Canada, and New Zealand created the Five Eyes as an espionage effort in a loophole around domestic laws.  The organization originated in 1943 when the United States and United Kingdom coupled due to allied goals following World War II. This alliance led to the two countries creating the start of an Intelligence Agreement called the BRUSA Agreement. A decade later, several countries joined as slightly involved third parties, which ultimately led to Canada, New Zealand, and Australia joining the Agreement and cr
